Abstract

Waste tyres generation rate is around 1.5 million tonnes per annum globally. India generates around 6% of this waste annually. Most of these tyre wastes end up in landfill or incinerated, causing serious environmental damage and pose a major threat to ecosystem. Waste Tyre Upcycling is an efficient way to extract valuable products from the end-of-life tyres. The present work deals with the comprehensive studies of the waste tyres by a low temperature thermal route. The main aim of the research was to understand the detailed properties of both recovered oil and Carbon Black (rCB) to make them commercially viable products and utilizing the rCB for Styrene Butadiene Rubber compounding.
