Abstract

In this research work, the influence of sol-gel interplay with anisotropic nanoclay in raw natural rubber (NR) for providing improved mechanical reinforcement than isotropic nano zinc oxide was investigated in-depth. For the purpose of experiments, four different grades of NR were selected with similar Mooney viscosity but dissimilar gel fractions (toluene insoluble fraction), along with the commercially available Cloisite 30B and nano zinc oxide as the nanofillers.
